Its September 24th, 2007 at 7 am, i just got admitted into the hospital and was ready to get the process started for her arrival. Alot of tests had to take place. They had to test to see if my blood was ok, since i was on blood thinners. After several a temps on trying to give me an IV - one of the nurses (one of many) punctured a vein in my left hand which caused alot of blood to come out , which then caused me to pass out. Once i regained conciseness, they had to do some more tests to see if my blood platelets were ok. Once everything was fine and dandy, Dr J came in to turn her since she was practically standing up inside of me - let me tell you that was not a pleasant experience at all... After she finally turned they had to gurney me to the bed. I had blankets, sheets and pillows strapped down on both sides of my belly to keep her from turning back - again not so pleasant. She kept trying to move so the heart monitor kept slipping off. Someone had the brilliant idea to try and give her (baby) an internal heart monitor... Yup, you know what that means - Ouch!!! They sent in bohemath woman to try and do the job... Well, lets just say that the attempt was a complete failure, so back to trying the original way. After all of the fun i just had - i had some wonderful company afterwards. Gabe of course was there through everything, my Mamma was there, my sister, Katie M and Britt L. Gabe and I invited all of them to stay through the whole fabulous process. It was a long day of friends, family and contractions. I tried to hold out for as long as i could to get an epidural, finally i couldnt stand it any longer - it was about 6 or 7 pm (or something like that, Gabe and I don't really remember) and i was dying... You have to know that i was stuck in bed not being able to move *** I had to pee in a bowl that was placed underneath me*** since 7am. So that was about 12 hours of not moving... Anyhow, after the epidural i was cool. Alot happened or didn't happen after i had the epidural. If you, Kate, Mom, Katie or Brit could remember more details could you send them to me, my mind is a bit of a blur. Anyhow, i do remember my sister saying that Cora was going to be born on the 25th, cause she wanted the same birth date as me and my niece Kenna. It was getting pretty late and my sister had to get home, so Brit said that she would take her. Once Brit dropped off Kate she decided she wouldnt be able to sleep and turned right back around and headed for the hospital again. Well while that was going on i was getting ready to push this little darlin out. Our fantastic nurse came in and told me that i was ready but i had to hold her in cause Dr J was not there yet. Those of you who have been told that - i am sure the same thing was going on in your head - YA RIGHT!!! Dr J finally show up and 5 pushs later (with no tearing by the way :D) our precious little girl was brought into this world. Brit showed up right as Cora gave her first scream. We were proud to introduce:
