Since our family is growing (literally :) and since we have birthday's which fall in the same months, we decided last year that we would group the birthday's together. So May was my mom's and sister's birthdays.
Papa bought some water guns and since we made it over to my parents house a bit early we decided to break them out. My kids LOVE the water. Papa got a pitcher and filled it up with water so the kids could keep their "weapons" loaded. Cora couldnt squirt the gun so she decided it would be more fun to play with the pitcher of water instead.
Then it was "Get Gigi" time. Don't feel bad for her - she had her gun ready to go at all times.
This is how Cora defended herself - by holding the back of the gun and by making car noises. 
This is the infamous Heter family German Choc Cake. I was in charge of making the cake and knowing that my whole family LOVES this cake (even though i don't :) i went ahead and made it for them.
Kate and Mom opening up their gifts. We got my sis a tea cup with tea pots on it and a teal-ish tea pot. She started collecting tea pots a while ago so i always have so much fun finding a gift for her. 
Then it was story time - its always story time over at Gigi and Papa's house
