Reformation Day

This is our 3rd year celebrating Reformation Day. We had so much fun bobbing for apples and playing musical chairs (which i havent done in ages). We had yummy stew, breads, chesses, and candy and 2 apple crisps ;). We listened while Uncle Bret read about Martin Luther and the 95 thesis and then we sang a sweet song that John Calvin wrote. My sister made her girls bonnets and aprons - Georgia didn't want her's so Mimi put it on Cora and she loved it. This has become such a fun tradition with our family. Enjoy the pictures ;)

Kenna and Cora being twirled around on the computor chair

The kids sitting and *trying* listening to Uncle Bret
Cora taking her turn at the apples... She thought it was pretty cool
Gigi showing the grands how its done.......

YEAH GIGI!!!!!

Sethie taking his turn.... i don't think he got one, but had fun trying over and over again
Kenna an apple champ - and Cora looking on...
Eli taking a stab at it.....

and he got one.... Way to go bubba

Then it was time for musical chairs.... sure, Papa had a hard time trying to figure out the CD player, the little ones were always safe, Uncle Bret decided the only chair he wanted was the comfy recliner chair, Eli would go around very slowly touching every chair just incase the music stopped and Sethie would run around the chairs like crazy.. Then it was finally down to Eli and Kenna...... round and round they went (along with Gabe, two little girls and Sethie ;) and once the music stopped Kenna was the winner - and before we could have any sad (loosing) tears, my sister announced "Dessert Time"... Saved by the yummies...Cupcakes and Apple Crisp and Apple/Peach Crisp was served

Happy Reformaion Day!!

Sounds like fun...thinking back to bobbing for apples as a kid at fairs and what not seems really gross to me...all those kids sticking their faces in the same water...but this looks like a lot of fun with just family. The musical chairs sounds fun too!

OK, seriously? How can we be Lutheran and NOT having a Ref Day party!? Slated on next year's calendar for sure! You're post made me grin. So fun!
