I turned 31 yesterday. Last year we were going to have a party for my big 3 0 but i was newly prego with Charlie and my whole family got sick. So we kept postponing it and postponing it until it was disregarded all together. My wonderful hubby told me he would plan a big "Bash" for my 31st and that is exactly what he did - Theme and All....
He made his own invites and mailed them out. The theme was "Pick an Era" that way people werent going out of their way *and pocket books* trying to find an outfit. It was perfect. A wonderful cake designer and friend made me my cake and we had oodles of goodies. Not to mention the guests who were so fun and totally participated and the..... gifts ;)
Anyhow, here are some totally rad pics of the night....
The dress i am wearing was my mother in laws - her mamma made it for her. So i guess i was somewhere inbetween the mid to late 60's, Gabe found his get up at a thrift store, he was probably the same, Eli..... well, Star Wars is an Era - right??? ;) Cora's Era was the 1800's and Charlie's dress was strait of of the 70's.
My sis and her fantastic fam... Have you met Ted??? He took over Bret's body for the evening. The GREAT thing about Ted - he smiles for pictures... Bret would never do that, but Ted does... You go Ted!!!
My sis was beautiful as always dressed in her classy 40's dress, Kenna and Georgia were prairie girls and Sethie was a very *cute* COOL lookin Cowboy (i think was was supposed to be someone, i just can't remember)
My FANTASTIC cake done by this lady ;) The top was white cake with butter rum frosting and the bottom was chocolate with snickers all through out it.... *totally making the Homer Simpson gurgling noise*
I received some fantastic gifts - this wonderful item was givin to me by a sweet friend who bought it in China.. Oh, just in case you don't know this about me..... I ♥ Flamingos!!!!!
This totally AWESOME book was given to me by my sis - its so so cool and i can't wait to try them out / or to see how hard they are ;) The first one goes to you Kate ;)
