yup, part 1.... in other words get ready for lots and lots of pics ;) we arrived in California - Ridgecrest California to be exact on the evening of the 21st of April. Papa Heter took us out to dinner (oh, very important info - it only - ONLY - took us 14 hours to get there - yea.... that's it. moving on) and then we made it over to Great Grandma's house to sleep. We left our house at 4:30 and all the 14 hours the two eldest kid's never - NEVER slept. They handled exhaustion rather well and were out like lights when their cute little heads hit there pillows - in Cora's case Dog. The next day we ate and then had to feed and visit with Grandma's two tortoises (who still after 30 years do not have names) and visit Garfield the cat.
Sometime in the late morning we left Grandma's house and went to see Papa. He had a project for Daddy so i to0k the kids and got lunch. We ate at Papa's house and then waited patiently for Aunt Bethie and cousins Emma and Katie to arrive.
YEAH THEY ARE HERE!!!!!
We all then went back to Grandma's house and ate and visited. The next morning we did the same routine. Ate, fed un-named tortoises, and waited patiently ;) for Auntie to arrive with GOODIES!!!
Auntie helped with the bubbles and then followed Cora around and collected flowers/weeds just so she can bury them in the dirt. This girl see's dirt and it silently calls her name.
