Our First Zoo Day of the Year

It was so nice out on Friday so we decided to pack a lunch and make our first zoo trip of the year. This was Cora's first time being out of a stroller and being able to climb on and threw the different things they had there. Cora was totally hamming it up, Eli didnt care to much for the camera this time - which is not like him. He's got a silly sister to take his camera hog place, i guess ;)

Our Cora turtle

The infamous giant giraffe slideAll of the animals (except the birds, they were still inside to keep warm) were out and up close. The tiger brothers are always right up against the glass. I think they like the company.
The female snow leopard was also hamming it up for the camera. She was so funny.
One of Cora's favorites - besides the other birds and the gibbons - The Penguins! She thinks everything they do is hilarious. They now have a board up that tells you how to find them and identify them. Eli had alot of fun trying to see what penguin went with what color bands.
I really wish i could remember what these two were called. It would of made for a better post ;)
Our 2 giraffes. Well one of them is actually our 3rd - last year one of them past away - he got very sick and the zoo keepers decided that the other one couldnt be alone so they got a new friend.
The golden eagle was either very annoyed with us hanging around his cage for so long or he was just trying to show off for us..... Either way he was so funny, flapping his wing (his other wing was broken and was unable to be mended) and making so much noise at us. The kids got a kick out of it.
My sweet little lady - excited to see the gibbons.
