Brunch??? Is that even a word???

Last week Gigi invited us over for brunch since her best friend from California was visiting. When we told him that we were having brunch he became so confused and didnt believe us that brunch was even a word and asked us if we were making it up. We told him it was a word and you have it as a late breakfast and early lunch - he was not buying it.. He started laughing and ended with a "Whatever!!"
